What Is A World?

A world is a persistent digital place that can keep growing after a launch, season, patch, or operator change.

Worlds contain more than levels and assets. They contain communities, economies, governance, places, institutions, stories, and history.

Persistent worlds

A persistent world remembers what happened. Players can build, trade, organize, explore, and change the shared environment over time.

Communities

A world becomes meaningful when people gather around it. Guilds, cities, factions, marketplaces, and social norms can become part of the world's identity.

Economies

Items, resources, services, and markets can accumulate value because the world has continuity. Players can understand scarcity and history instead of starting from a blank slate every cycle.

Governance

Worlds can define who is allowed to change rules, publish upgrades, run infrastructure, or moderate shared spaces.

History

History is the memory of a world. It explains why a city exists, who built a monument, how a market changed, and what a community survived.
